Publication Metrology for a stronger Europe – white paper

On the website of The European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET), document "Metrology for a stronger Europe – white paper" has been published.

This document presents vision of EURAMET for European metrology for 2030-2040. It calls for a coordinated European policy in the area of ​​metrology based on, among others, the needs arising from: energy transformation, environmental protection, strong and competitive European industry, digital transformation and the development of the health care system.

The publication indicates that Europe needs, among others, green and digital industrial transformation, resistant to external disruptions of industry or innovation. Additionally, health area faces challenges resulting from an aging society and rapid technological development (digitalization).

The document draws attention to the unique, key role of National Metrological Institutions and Designated Institutions (DI), which, on the one hand, ensure measurement traceability for industry and various areas of social life, also ensuring the accuracy of measurement in economic transactions, and, on the other hand, conduct advanced research in in the area of ​​metrology, contributing to the development of science and economy.
