GUM jointed the European Metrology Network for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine

Published by: Adam Żeberkiewicz

GUM, alongside prominent National Metrology Institutes from, among others, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, will support the activities of the European Metrology Network for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine.

The mission of this Network is to provide a coordinated and service-oriented European metrology infrastructure in order to increase the metrological traceability of in vitro diagnostics (IVD). The Network's activities contribute to improving patient safety, supporting the European IVD industry in terms of meeting regulatory requirements, and adapting to global challenges by:

  • connecting with stakeholders in order to exchange information concerning needs, experiences, and progress in metrology-based data evaluation;
  • promoting coordinated research based on stakeholders’ requirements;
  • building capacities for measurement traceability;
  • establishing strong connections with European reference laboratories.

GUM's representative in the Network is Prof. Małgorzata Kujawińska, e-mail: malgorzata.kujawinska@gum.gov.pl.
