Election of a GUM representative to the WELMEC Executive Board

During the last meeting of Committee of WELMEC e.V. (European Cooperation in the Field of Legal Metrology), GUM representative Dr. Marcin Mikiel was elected to the Executive Board of this organization.

The Executive Board (Management Board) consists of a chairperson, a vice-chairperson and up to four members elected by the highest body of WELMEC e.V., a Committee composed of representatives of all member countries. The Executive Board is responsible for organizing the work of the organization and implementing the decisions taken by the WELMEC Committee. In addition to the GUM representative, representatives of Belgium and Romania were also elected to the ExBo. The new members of the management board will take up their duties after the amendment to the new statute of the organization is approved. Currently, the Executive Board members include apart of Chairperson and Vice- Chairperson representatives of Slovenia, Italy and the Netherlands.

Mr. Marcin Mikiel is the first from Poland elected to this body. He started working at the Central Office of Measures in 2008. Currently, he is the head of the International Cooperation Division in the Department of International Cooperation and Analyzes of the Central Office of Measures.
