Abstract
Ecosystem health is an objective for European water policy, because clean water is vital for public health and environment. The Water Framework Directive requires the monitoring of surface waters covers their chemical composition by targeting the list of priority substances (for example metals such as: Nickel, Lead, Cadmium and their compounds). In the frame of the EMPIR 14RPT03 ENVCRM project new types of matrix reference materials were produced and examined according the requirements of Directive. Laboratory of GUM, taking part in the project, gained and improved practical knowledge concerning methods of certification new types of reference materials containing toxic metals in river water matrix.
