The 53rd CIML meeting with the participation of GUM representatives
7-12 October / In Hamburg, with the participation of the Polish delegation, the 53rd CIML meeting (International Committee of Legal Metrology) took place. The meeting was attended by over 180 participants, including about 50 representatives of the Member States.

On 8th June in GUM we hosted Professor Alistair Forbes, mathematician from National Physical Laboratory (NPL, United Kingdom), world leading National Metrology Institute.

World Metrology Day 2018. Official beginning of the 100th anniversary of GUM.
The main event of this year's WMD was the ceremony of unveilling of the bust of first director and the founder of GUM Zdzisław Rauszer. The author of the bust is the sculptor Jan Kuraciński.

12th EURAMET General Assembly Meeting with strong Polish voice
In the period of 28 May – 1 June in Bucharest, with the important participation of the GUM delegation, the 12th EURAMET General Assembly was held.

34 WELMEC Committee Meeting with GUM representatives
On 25-27 April 2018 two representatives of GUM took part in the 34 WELMEC Committee Meeting organized in Sarajevo.

Visit of the Head of the Ukrainian National Science Centre Institute of Metrology in GUM
In the day of 7 May 2018 GUM was visited by the head of the NSC Institute of Metrology from Kharkov, prof. Pavel Neyezhmakov. The main task of the visit was to sign an agreement of cooperation between our institutions.

International meeting of the Technical Committee OIML TC17 / SC7 Breath testers' Working Group
On 14-16 February 2018 the Central Office of Measures hosted the 6th international meeting of the OIML TC Working Group dealing with issues related to the legal metrological control of alcohol analysers.

European Metrology Network – a new project of EURAMET
With the participation of the President of GUM Dr. Włodzimierz Lewandowski, on 9 January 2018, EURAMET workshops on European Metrology Networks (EMN) took place in Paris.

European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) Call 2018: Stage 1 OPEN
On 10 January 2018, EURAMET inaugurated officially the first stage of the EMPIR Call 2018 and invited research teams to submit proposals for the following topic areas: Health, Support for Networks, Normative, Research Potential, SI Broader Scope.
