CIPM MRA review. Preparatory workshop: 13-14 October 2015

The Polish delegation headed by president of the Central Office of Measures took part in the meeting of the NMI Directors organized by the BIPM in Paris, 13-14 October 2015. The yearly NMI director's meeting was dedicated to the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA). The CIPM MRA is an important pillar of the international quality infrastracture. After fifteen years of successful operation, a review has been undertaken to ensure the sustainability of the Arrangement for the coming years. The CIPM MRA review is a result of the 25 CGPM Resolution 5, 2014.

The aim of the CIPM MRA workshop was to initiate a broad discussion amongst Directors of National Metrology Institutes, Member State representatives, representatives of RMOs and other relevant stakeholders. The workshop's intention was to consider the benefits of the CIPM MRA. Furthermore, the purpose was to voice opinions on what works well, and what needs to be improved regarding its implementation. The final result of the meeting was establishing of the working group under the chairmanship of the CIPM President. The aim of the working group is to conclude the formal review of the implementation and operation of the CIPM MRA.
