20th EURAMET General Assembly Has Concluded
From 2 to 4 June 2026, representatives of the Central Office of Measures (GUM) participated in the 20th EURAMET General Assembly, the organisation’s principal decision-making body.
During the meeting, delegates adopted a number of resolutions concerning both the current functioning and the future development of EURAMET. In particular, the EURAMET members elected a new Chair of the organisation, Ms Annette Röttger (Germany), approved two members of the Board of Directors for a further term, Mr Hans Arne Frøystein (Norway), and Mr Richard Brown (United Kingdom), as well as confirmed the Chairs of the Technical Committees for Thermometry, Ionising Radiation, and Interdisciplinary Metrology.
The organisation’s budget for 2027 was also approved, and a discharge for the implementation of the 2025 budget was passed. During the proceedings, institutes from Switzerland and Azerbaijan were admitted as new Associate Members of EURAMET.
Furthermore, delegates agreed to establish a Future of EURAMET Working Group and a Digitalisation Working Group, as well as approve Quality Management System documents.
During the plenary session, participants heard presentations on the activities of the European Metrology Networks and the Technical Committees including the presentation given by the chairman of the Technical Committee for Length, the representative of GUM, Mr Dariusz Czułek.
The next General Assembly is scheduled to take place in France at the turn of May and June 2027.
