Opportunities for cooperation with GUM in the use of UTC(PL) time signals for systems enhancing the security of satellite navigation – information for industry and institutions

Published by: Adam Żeberkiewicz

In response to the growing interest from industry stakeholders and incoming inquiries regarding the use of standard frequency and UTC(PL) time signals for solutions enhancing the security of satellite navigation technologies within the territory of the Republic of Poland, the Central Office of Measures (GUM) invites interested entities to contact it.

Based on the expertise of the Time and Frequency Laboratory of the Time and Length Department at the Central Office of Measures in the field of time and frequency metrology -including the determination of official time in the Republic of Poland and the realization of the UTC(PL) time scale, which constitutes the local physical realization of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) - GUM invites companies, industry representatives, scientific institutions, and other interested entities to explore the possibility of using access points (located in Warsaw and Kielce) to the signals of the physical realization of UTC(PL), subject to the technical capabilities of the Central Office of Measures.

The standard frequency and UTC(PL) time signals provided by GUM may be applied in systems enhancing the security and reliability of satellite navigation services within the Republic of Poland, particularly by ensuring a trustworthy and stable time reference traceable to UTC.

The objective of these activities is to support the development of innovative solutions and to increase the availability of secure satellite navigation services in Poland.

Entities interested in cooperation or in the use of UTC(PL) signals for systems enhancing the security of satellite navigation are invited to contact us directly at: gum@gum.gov.pl by 30 April 2026.
