Annual NMI directors and Convention representatives meeting held in Sevres with GUM representatives

On 17-18 October 2019, in Sevres near Paris, an annual meeting of the directors of NMI (National Metrology Institutes) was held with the participation of representatives of GUM.

During the meeting, the newly selected composition of CIPM (International Committee of Measures) was presented. Delegations were familiar with the latest trends in the field of global metrology and the progress of work on the most advanced projects. Great attention was given to the redefinition of kg and its consequences, in accordance with the resolution adopted during the 26th General Conference of Weights and Measures. A representative of New Zealand acquainted participants with the results of the redefinition promotional campaign.

An interesting topic raised during the meeting were the issues of personnel policy used in NMI, with particular emphasis on the policy of eliminating all discrimination. The solutions used in this matter in the NIST, presented the head of this organization.
