07.06.2018World Metrology Day 2018. Official beginning of the 100th anniversary of GUM.

The main event of this year's WMD was the ceremony of unveilling of the bust of first director and the founder of GUM Zdzisław Rauszer. The author of the bust is the sculptor Jan Kuraciński.

During the occasional speech the President of GUM, dr. Włodzimierz Lewandowski briefly reminded the history of the institution and achievements of Polish metrology. He also outlined the challenges which GUM has to face in the coming years.
The speaker was also the representative of the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology, and also a member of the Metrology Council, Mr. Konrad Makarewicz, who presented the congratulatory letter from the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology, Mrs. Jadwiga Emilewicz.

This is how the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Central Office of Measures commemorated. The main ceremony is planned for February 8, 2019 on the anniversary of the Decree on Measures, and the culmination of the celebrations will be the World Metrology Day in May 2019.

National Patronage over the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Central Office of Measures was taken over by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
