On September 9 this year, at the headquarters of the Hungarian counterpart of GUM (BFKH), the twenty-sixth meeting of DUNAMET (Organization of Danube Metrology Institutes) was held.

That was the first time meeting with the participation of a representative of Central Office of Measures (GUM). The organization brings together NMI from our region (in addition to GUM, also representatives of national metrological institutions from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Croatia) and its task is to integrate them, conduct joint projects and exchange information.

During the meeting, the delegates signed GUM's accession to DUNAMET, and existing and future metrology projects implemented within DUNAMET were discussed. Representatives of individual NMIs, including a representative of GUM, provided current information on matters carried out within their institutions. The GUM representative devoted a lot of attention to the implementation of GUM's flagship investment, which is the GUM Świętokrzyski Laboratory Campus.

Due to the presence of the WELMEC chairman and a member of the EURAMET Board of Directors, the participants learned about the current work carried out within the above-mentioned framework organizations, including challenges and opportunities related to everyday functioning.

It was agreed that the next DUNAMET meeting will be held at the end of October 2024 in Prague.
